Trigeneration services: feasibility study, design, supply, installation, service
In brief. You can order gas engines, the cooling circuit and the interface between them from one company. We handle the cooling circuit from the feasibility study to service: calculation, design, installation supervision, commissioning and maintenance from one company.
Cold Energy (NCT) handles the trigeneration (CCHP) cooling circuit from the first calculation to maintenance: feasibility study, design, equipment supply, installation supervision, commissioning and service, and the equipment can be leased. We also supply gas engine generator sets: gas engines, the cooling circuit and the interface between them can be ordered from one company. If the engine and the cooling are split between different contractors, the interface belongs to no one.
What services make up a project?
| Service | What is included | Page |
|---|---|---|
| Feasibility study | payback calculation, hourly load profiles, sensitivity | trigeneration feasibility study |
| Design | concept design, design and working documentation, designer's supervision | design |
| Supply | gas engines, Thermax absorption chillers, NCT cooling towers, dry coolers and chillers, pumps, controls | supply |
| Installation supervision and commissioning | placing in the design position, testing, charging, start-up | installation and commissioning |
| Service | scheduled maintenance, diagnostics, repair, remote monitoring | service |
| Leasing | available, terms calculated for the project | leasing |
Why is it better to handle everything through one company?
Because trigeneration mistakes sit at the interfaces. Six places where a plant usually breaks down: exhaust back pressure, engine jacket overheating, return temperature, engine load and cooling demand out of step, crystallization on power loss, and untreated cooling tower water. At each of them the engine and the cooling meet. If they are split between different contractors, the interface belongs to no one.
Trigeneration can be assembled from different contractors. But when the gas engines, the cooling circuit equipment, its design and commissioning are with one company, nobody argues at the interface about whose mistake it is. A breakdown of the six interfaces: why trigeneration does not pay back.
Where to start?
With the answers to four questions: is there gas and a gas allocation, is electricity expensive, are heat and cooling needed for 3,000–4,000 hours a year or more, and is the cooling load above 300 kW. If all four are "yes," a feasibility study is done. You can submit a request for it on the feasibility study page and make a preliminary estimate in the calculator.
