Grand Venezia, Noida, India
In brief. Eight 2 MW engines cover 61% of the complex's electricity demand, and the heat of each engine goes to its own 600 TR Thermax machine.

At the Grand Venezia complex, eight 2 MW gas engines cover 61% of its electricity demand. The exhaust and jacket water heat of each engine goes to a Thermax absorption chiller: eight machines in total, with 16,877 kW of cooling.
What does the project consist of?
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Industry | Shopping mall and hotel |
| Engines | 8 gas engines of 2 MW each, 16 MW in total |
| Fuel | Natural gas |
| Heat for the machine | Exhaust at 424 °C and engine jacket water at 93 °C |
| Machine and cooling | 8 machines of 600 TR each, 16,877 kW (4,800 TR) in total |
| What the cooling is for | Air conditioning of the complex: 1 million sq ft of retail and a 200-room hotel |
Why is this example useful for a Russian site?
Here each engine has its own machine, 8 to 8. If one unit stops, the complex loses one eighth of its electricity and cooling, and the rest keep running. Small units also handle part load more easily: some of them can simply be switched off. More: trigeneration (CCHP) for business centers and hotels.
How does this kind of scheme work?
One machine takes both the exhaust and the engine jacket hot water and needs no separate heat exchangers.
